Course overview

The Diploma in Taxation is designed to provide finance and business professionals with an understanding of tax compliance and related accounting for tax issues. We will give you the skills to compute tax liabilities and tax reliefs and to prepare tax returns with confidence. 

Entry requirements

This programme has been designed to meet the needs of business professionals, members of Chartered Accountants Ireland and Post-FAE students still in contract. We welcome applications from:

  • Holders of a degree at Level 8 on the NFQ or equivalent qualification
  • Holders of a recognised qualification in accounting
  • Individuals with relevant experience in finance, business or other relevant fields

All applicants other than members of Chartered Accountants Ireland, will be asked to submit evidence of their qualifications or experience with their application. (See our admission & awards criteria page for more details)

Course fees

Fees are fully-inclusive and will cover: registration, course materials, tuition fees and assessment fees. Eligible applicants can receive 25% of their fees funded through IFS Skillnet.

How you study

The Diploma in Taxation is delivered through pre-recorded lectures and self-study materials. Online sessions and programme assessments are all conducted through a virtual learning environment. 

Assessment

Your performance will be evaluated by continuous assessment. You will complete three practical home assignments, reinforcing and confirming your progress.

 
 

CPD Hours

This programme offers structured and unstructured CPD hours contact time. The exact number of hours that can be claimed as CPD will vary for each individual depending on time expended and the requirements of their professional body.
