Our client is a charitible trustee and religious related organisation in Ireland seeking a Head of Finance to lead a medium sized finance team and IT manager
Current HoF retiring - Handover expected.
• Remote working - Currently at least 2 days in the office per week but this may be reviewed

Role
The Head of Finance & IT reports to the Chief Officer, is a member of the senior leadership team and will attend and present at meetings of the Executive Committee
The Head of Finance & IT is responsible for the overall management of the Finance and IT department, including ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and Charities regulations in both jurisdictions on the island of Ireland. They manage a team who are responsible for a range of specialist functions, including pension administration and payroll, investment administration and cash management, treasury management, account management and reporting, and Information Technology.
Location: South Dublin
Qualifications
The suitable candidate will be a qualified ACA with a relevant primary degree and significant post-qualification experience. (Likely FCA)
The suitable candidate should have experience in project implementation, and systems development, financial audit, internal audit, and will have previously managed a finance team.
Experience of pension administration, fund management, and investment and treasury administration experience are desirable, as are knowledge of Charities SORP and experience of working for a charity.
Good communications and interpersonal skills.
An understanding of financial information systems and IT security would be beneficial.
Job description
1. Preparation of financial statements and supporting information for external auditors.
2. Preparation of annual budgets in support of the activities and strategic priorities of the organisation.
3. Preparation of agendas and papers and providing for committees of the body including the allocations (budget), stipends (clergy pay and conditions), and audit committees.
4. Providing financial, taxation, and reporting advice to the investment and pensions committees, and to the management team.
5. Recommending and implementing policies and procedures to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, including the requirements of tax law, company law and charities law.
6. Attending other committees as required
7. Reviewing processes and controls to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Finance and IT Department.
8. Implementation of continuous process improvement and projects as required.
9. Management and development of staff to support the objectives of the organisation
10. Attending management meetings and participating in management initiatives
