Our client is a city centre fulle service practice with a long established history and track record of excellence seeking an Audit and Accounts Assistant Manager.
The Role:
We are looking for an ambitious, high-achieving individual seeking a new challenge in a collaborative and forward-thinking Audit and Accounts Department. This position offers opportunities for progression, challenging projects, and learning and development.
You will be part of an experienced management team, who are responsible for carrying out the audits and accounts production of a large portfolio of clients across multiple sectors. Our team’s large portfolio of clients cover a wide industry base across a wide range of industries.
Responsibilities:
• Lead teams on the planning; execution; and completion of audits.
• Provide technical auditing and accounting assistance to team members and clients.
• Manage a portfolio of clients of variable sizes across different industries.
• Proactively manage client expectations and be point-of-contact for clients.
• Coordinate and project manage the allocation of staff resources to jobs.
• Report directly to director on engagements.
• Assist with managing the team’s financial performance e.g. agreeing and billing of fees; cash collections; monitoring recoverability of WIP etc.
• Participate in the coaching, mentoring and appraisal of staff.
This is a new opportunity within our firm and requires a positive, self-motivated individual with superior organisational and technical skills who can execute multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure a high level of professional standards.
Skills and competencies required;
• ACA Qualified
• Circa 3 years+ relevant post qualified work experience
• Can demonstrate strong technical auditing and accounting skills, including knowledge of the ISAs and accounting standards FRS100 to FRS102
• Understands the operational aspects of managing an audit team and be accountable for results
• Proven management skills and behaviours
• Working knowledge of accounting software packages such as Relate, Surf or similar with a high aptitude and interest for using new software.
• Client-oriented with initiative, enthusiasm and problem-solving attitude.
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with maximum discretion
• Excellent organisational skills, time-management and communication skills
• Ability to exercise good judgment and decision making when necessary
